Happy New Years Day Lovelies!
I hope you are having a the best New Years where ever you are, whether you are nursing a hangover, out at work, or having a lazy day in in front of films.

This year I am giving a Bullet journal a go. I'm 100% one of those people who needs lists and organisation to function or else my life represents the jumbled mess that is the constant coming and going of ideas in my head.

One aspect of Bullet journals that I love is a habit tracker. The idea of this is that you track aspects of your life to see how often you do them. The more you think about doing each of them the more likely you are to do them so it becomes habit, whether you want that to be daily weekly or monthly. You can then look through your journal and see if you are keeping to your goals
The NEW YEAR is all about trying new things so I have come up with 75 habit tracker ideas to inspire your own Habit Tracker Page.

Motivational Monday- #GRLPWR Quotes from One Reader to Another

As many of you know, every Monday I do a 'Motivational Monday' post hoping to bring some positivity to the start of your week, and give everyone a bit of 'food for thought' for the week ahead.

Last week I wrote this post called #FEMENISM, in which I discuss what the term means to me, and the importance of promoting equality, providing men and women with equal opportunities and chances in life.

I posted on Instagram asking for your thoughts and contributions for quotes to go hand in hand with this topic. I wanted to bring a wide range of perspectives into the conversation and have Girls inspiring each other.

Its so important as women that we build each other up, not knock each other down...we can do that quite well by ourselves thank you very much!

The response I got was incredible, thank you to everyone who contributed such amazing and powerful quotes.

So here's some Monday Motivation, by you to you.

p.a.ereviews“A successful woman is one who can build a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her.”

#Feminism

Lets talk GIRL POWER.
I am well aware that the majority you lovely lot who read my blog, are fellow gals, and its through the power and strength of strong women we have come so far with feminism.

Poppy Apparel have a fab #Feminism range on their online shop, where you can shop using isobellejane10 for 10% off the entire store, with free worldwide shipping. This range is really important and something I wanted to highlight. .

My Top Picks from the Range:

GIRL POWER FEMINISM TEE-14

BREAST TEE-£10 (sold out)

NEVERTHELESS SHE PERSISTED TEE-£14 (sold out)

What Feminism Means to Me:

In summery it boils down to:

  • Equality
  • Freedom
  • Building each other up, not knocking each other down
Equality. in that a woman or man should be able to take time off work, stay at home, look after the children, and do any job, or sport they like. Sex should NOT be a barrier.

Freedom. Both men and women should be able to vote, get to the top of a company and put their views forward without fear of being persecuted or shut down because of their sex.

I think its so important as women, to celebrate each others achievements, not feel jealous or compare ourselves, but just to enjoy another women's success and do our best to be strong independant women too.

Areas where #Feminism still needs to develop...
I personally feel out syntax and lexis is highly sexist both towards male and female why do you have to 'fight like a man' and 'cry like a girl'?

Women in top roles, according to catalyst:

'One third (33%) of global businesses had no women in senior management roles, a number which has not changed since 2011'.

Motivational Monday- Even miracles take a little time.

Its so easy at times to feel buried by everything you have going on. Especially when times are at their most difficult and the road ahead looks bleak.

You feel trapped, unsure, and at times question if theres any point continuing.

Just remember these moments, although painful and hard at the time, are NOT the end but really just the beginning, like chapters in a book or a plant being sewn. Its the dark and difficult times that lead to the bright and beautiful moments, whether this is by realising what you are doing is making you unhappy and taking a completely new direction, or whether the stress and hardship is worth the end success of a finished product and that beautiful sense of achievement.

Whatever you may be going through, life has a funny way of swinging around and bringing about good, so just hold on and you will burst through the ground into better times.

This quote sums my point up perfectly. You have to bury a bulb in order to see growth. Its when the bulb is buried that growth and development occurs. Eventually that bulb becomes a beautiful flower; this is how we have to think about life. The dark times are hard, but they make us who we are and lead us to the best versions of ourselves that we can be.

Motivational Monday-Top Tips on Embracing Happiness

Lets talk failure, unexpected changes and plans that just dont go the way you hoped they would.

I've had personal experience of this many times and I dont think any human has ever gone through life without their plans going wrong and life taking them somewhere they weren't expecting from time to time.

As Robert Burns so aptly puts it

'The best made plans of mice and men often go awry

Essentially it doesn't matter how carefully we plan out every detail of our lives something is bound to happen at some point to upset them and to lead you down a different course.

It is how we deal with these setbacks and changes that develops us as individuals and shapes the people we become. Its very often easy to become withdrawn and introverted when our plan go wrong, its not unusual to feel hurt, lost confused. What this quote speaks in volume is to find happiness in even the smallest areas of your life. Embrace even the aspects that may seem insignificant, because in those moments of hardship and confusion it is these seemingly insignificant moments of joy that could keep you afloat and lead you back on track.

Please if you are at a period of life where you dont know which way to turn, dont beat yourself up worrying, be gentle with yourself and just remember to enjoy being. Whether that takes the form of a how bubbly bath on a rainy autumnal day, or a moment of peace admiring the beauty of golden leaves falling from the trees, or the feeling of endorphin's as you finish a difficult workout. Find those moments in your life and remember their value. These moments are just as important as the seemingly huge life decision you may have to make because at the end of the day its all time, and your far better using it to enjoy and admire life than to sit worrying about what should or could have been.

Happy Monday Lovelies and have an incredible week enjoying the smallest moments

The Fashion Edit: Why you need to be wearing RED

This autumn winter look out for red, it was all over the catwalks and is making a fashion comeback in a big way.

One style tip its so important to remember when transitioning seasons is to use the next season colours and patterns in the current seasons texture.

Summer season is all about lighter fabrics and off the shoulder bardot, by mixing these with next seasons hot colour you are acknowledging both. Look out for pieces that combine a nod to both seasons and you'll be right on trend.
If you are anything like me you will already be going mad in the shops, looking out for the perfect pieces to make up your autumn winter wardrobe and red is making a big comeback...which I love!

This play-suit from zaful is my baby at the moment, I love it and its so perfect for the change in season. Accessories make an outfit, so I paired it with a hand piece and a 3 tier necklace...who else is loving layering their jewellery at the moment? I really recommend having a look at their pieces they are incredibly affordable and right on trend, shipping is fast and the products I've received have been great quality and fit to size!

What trends have you loved from spring summer and what are you looking forward to wearing in Autumn Winter?

Motivational Monday #7 Does Progression take Patience?

There are a few things I wanted to discuss in this weeks post that have come up over the last week, and I just wanted to see what other peoples thoughts were on them.

Initially I wanted to discuss progress. Often we think of progress as moving forward, getting closer to our goal and making an achievement. But what if this is just the end result?
Personally I think of progress as something that is ongoing and involves not just success but also failure. When you don't achieve you learn. All to often we dont try things for a fear of getting it wrong or failing, but this is all part of progression. We have to try things and then stick at them through failure, making those mistakes in order to move forward, to learn. We can then make changes, and try again. Its only after all this hard work that success can be achieved.

This links to the second point that I wanted to discuss in this blog post and that involves patience. This is the area where I really struggle. Im not scared of starting something new but I am impatient. I want to be the best at whatever I try straight away, I want to get stuck in and be succeeding. This isnt always possible and often we have to work hard for many years before we see any result. I will tend to want to give something up quickly, because I'm so keen to move onto the next idea in my head. Although its great to have a lot of goals and be keen to achieve them all sometimes success comes from patience and keeping going at one goal until its been achieved, through failure and success.

Do you take opportunities when they come or do you put them off because of a fear of failure preventing progression, or do you take that first step and then become impatient? I'd love to know people thoughts on these topics! Message me your thoughts +Emily Isobelle Jane or on facebook and let me know your thoughts!

Happy Monday Everyone <3

Essential Rules to Live Your Life By~Motivational Monday #5

1. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it.
2. If you don't ask, you wont get.
3.If you do not step forward, you will always be in the same place.
4. You are not the first and you certainly wont be the last.

Today I was having a conversation, and was reminded of a saying my Grandad has drilled into me from a young age 'if you dont ask you wont get.' Occasionally, when we get tired, have a bad day, or week, we begin to feel demotivated, and can loose sight of our end goal. I find that reminding myself of these motto's whenever I feel this way, helps to reassure me that I got this and that I should do what ever I can in my power to achieve the goals I have set myself. If you haven't set yourself goals then I highly recommend that you do, go for a variety of long and short term, it helps you to have motivation. Even if you dont succeed as quickly as you would like, if you keep focused, one day you will achieve them and when that day comes the sense of achievement and self-worth you will feel will be completely worth it. Not only by living by these rules will you feel content and have purpose in your life, you will also never have any regrets, and know that you are doing everything you can to be the best person that you can be.

Motivational Monday #3 We are all meant to shine as children do

Happy Monday everyone!

For today's post I wanted to share this quote with you all.
An Image from my first 10K run in a year, a huge step for finally being strong enough to run that distance.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine , as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

(Marianne Williamson)

It is such a beautiful quote and one that I feel is hugely important to spread. Its message not only tells us to love ourselves but to use that self love to empower others. I love the referral to childhood, when we dont have a care in the world and act as we like. Its so freeing when you finally reach a point in your life when you start asking yourself will this make me happy and if the answer is no you have the confidence not to do it, and if its yes then you just go for it with everything you have to give

Motivational Monday #1

So for tonights post I decided I'm going to start a new series.

I love scrolling through my pintrest and finding motivational quotes. They often get me thinking and give me the boost I need to keep going at life and giving it my all. Today I just wanted to share one quote with you all, its one that is particularly relevant in my life at the moment and I thought it was apt to share it.

At 21/22 myself and my friends are all at an age where we are just coming into adulthood, we have to adapt to new responsibilities, juggle work and socialising and find a successful relationship. Not only this but many of us also have other struggles in our lives that may be health/family or work related. To look at us no one would know that we were dealing with these but they affect us everyday and the way in which we cope with situations and our environment. Just because you cant see what a person is dealing with doesn't give you the right to loose patients with that person or judge them. Always treat people with compassion and kindness and never assume you know everything that is going on in a persons life, don't brandish someone with a label based on how they act as you dont know the reason why a person is acting that way. Instead I feel we should all offer kindness and try and support each other no matter how difficult that may be when a person isn't acting the way you would like or expect. I hope this quote makes you think, just as it made me think.
Have an amazing week.
