Motivational Monday: A Guide to Not Giving Up

Hello Lovelies and welcome to this weeks Motivational Monday post.
This week I wanted to share my GUIDE on NOT GIVING UP when things get tough.
We all face challenges at some point or other, and a scenario that will leave us with the decision...
Do I carry on or leave?

It's so important when you are feeling despondent to have steps in place to keep you going, so I have put together a guide you can refer back to if ever you are in need of some motivation to keep going, because trust me-YOU GOT THIS

1) Remember why you started.
My number one and most important piece of advise-When you have been working at something for a while, and you aren't achieving as quickly as you might like to its easy to want to give up. DONT. Remember every small achievement you make is one step closer to your end goal. So remember that passion and drive you had at the beginning, feel that excitement again and crack on!

2) Write out your goals-BIG and small
Work towards small goals which will add up to a BIG achievement (I wrote a post on this recently which you can read to find out more IF YOU CAN DREAM IT YOU CAN DO IT)

3) Remember no mental state lasts forever
However you are feeling now, it will pass, you will move on and be able to reflect. When you achieve that end goal you will look back and be so glad you decided to continue and didn't give in to negative thinking.

4) Look to others for inspiration
J.K.Rowling is a HUGE inspiration to me. She has done so incredibly well for herself out of nothing. I find this so encouraging as it just goes to show how when you dedicate yourself to your passion it can really pay off.

BUT

5) Don't compare yourself to others.
Its certainly important to have people who inspire you, but at the same time you should never compare what you are doing to someone else. You never know whats going on in their life and the grass will always look greener on the other side. So try to be content with what you are doing and where you are going.

I hope this post is an encouragement to anyone who feels like giving up on their dream. Its tough, but you can do it! I have faith in you <3

Motivational Monday: My letter to a worried mind

This Motivational Monday is dedicated to my mum, who worries endlessly about everything.

She is the most kind, most genuine person you will ever meet, and with this comes the burden of a heart filled with worry.

But what if it didn't have to be that way?

As J.K.Rowling so eloquently puts it

Autumnal Apple, Pear and Ginger Crumble Recipe (Vegan)

Suffering with a severe milk allergy and slow stomach emptying, I know how difficult it can be to find recipes that cater for dietary needs. I came up with this dairy free recipe that can also be made gluten free with the use of gluten free flour, rather than standard.
I hope you enjoy trying this recipe!
Share your results with me on any of the platforms below...I cant wait to see your pictures!

Method:
Pre heat the oven to 180c

Peel the apples and pears (approx 600g)
Chop into bite sized chunks
Add the fruit to a medium sized saucepan, with 3 tbsp water and simmer over a medium heat until mushy.
Using a small grate on a grater, grate the ginger into the fruit mix and stir together.

For the topping:
Add the flour, sugar, linseed, coconut jam and margarine to a mixing bowl and crumble through your fingers until a breadcrumb consistency is achieved.

Place the fruit into a baking dish and crumble the flour mix on top, bake for 15 minutes or until the top is golden.

Motivational Monday-The Importance of Following Your Heart

Happy Monday lovelies!

Hope everyone has had a fab week?

Firstly, can we talk about how weird the weather was in the UK today...
I was in BRIGHTON with my friends this morning when we got a message from Bath where the red sky hit first. Laughing at the random OMG the sun is ORANGE, WHATS GOING ON!? messages-we were thinking yup the sun has always been orange 'that is a thing...'
I was on the train home when I actually noticed that the sky genuinely was really weird, like something out of an Apocalypse, or a sunset gone wrong.
So I took this picture on my walk home at 2 PM, to try and capture the uniqueness of it all, it looks as though the sun is setting in the evening!

ANYWAY...

The point of today's post is to remind everyone to follow their hearts. SO often, we are following our heads, logic, or what other people believe is right without us realising, which can lead us into areas of life that maybe our hearts just arent in.

Sometimes, a path can be right for a while, but then we change, our whole sense of being shifts and what used to make us feel content no longer does.

It can be so easy to stick at routine, just because;
Why change something when its so easy to carry on, even if it isnt making you feel happy?

So here are a few questions I try and ask myself frequently, in order to make sure I am ALWAYS following my heart, and staying as happy as I possibly can.

Who do you want to be?
What do you want to achieve?
Are you being true to yourself?
Is it making you happy?

If I can answer all these questions and be honestly happy with the outcome, knowing the path I'm on is leading me in the right direction, thats great.

If not, I change something.

Whether big or small, I find staying true to my heart and always finding the best outcome in any situation keeps me positive motivated and at peace with myself.

When I'm happy I can focus my time on making others happy too and that fills my heart.

Are you the type of person who follows their heart or their head?
What changes can you make this week no matter how BIG or small to make you that little bit more content?

Tanya Burr Goodie Bag Sneak Peak and Review

As I'm sure many of you are aware, I visited the Tanya Burr Chocolate Box Studio, and got to take away a goody bag filled with some of the best bits from Tans new product range!

For todays post I thought I would share with you what I got and my thoughts on the products.

I left this post until after my post about the day (Find out what I got up to here) as I really wanted to try the products and give my honest opinion on them.

After trying them ALL I have to say there isnt one I love more than the others. As I said in my previous post the longevity of Tans products is fantastic, and a real seller for the price point.
SO LETs GET TO IT:

TB VELVET VANILLE:

With vanilla in the title, I was expecting an overwhelming sweetness to this perfume, something that it very easy for brands to do when producing scents. NOT TB. Tanyas perfume is elegant and mature with subtle sweetness and a hint of spice to add a sexiness to the aroma.

Selfie LASH:

This mascara is beautifully made and perfect for lengthening your lashes. The head prevents clumping and it applys easily. This is the one product I do have to touch up, but concidering the price and application, its something I will take, and I'll definately be getting another of these for when I run out!

TANYA BURR FACE ILLUMINATOR:

I have been mixing this with my foundation to provide that extra glow, and BOY I love it!! It works perfectly at giving a dewy finish, without looking glittery!

The make-up artist at the event also told us to use this as a touch up, patting over make-up to produce a glowing look taking you from day to evening!

Tanya Burr-Sunday Walk

If there is one thing I love about TANS products is their names. Sunday walk is perfect for an autumn nude, is there anything cosier than a sunday morning walk through the golden autumn leaves before a glorious sunday roast?

This lipstick is just that, cosy. If you can call a colour cosy? Its warm and nude and perfect for day or night. Excellent staying power and perfect coverage and pigment make it an absolute favorite of mine.

Tanya Burr-Enchanted Dream

This eye shadow palette is the perfect day to night palette. Small enough to fit in your bag the light nudes are perfect for a chic day time look. Blend a little Purple in your crease and your good to party the night away.

Also can we please appreciate Tans FAB naming again with these:
Moonlit Walk
Cocoa Pumb
Berry Soufle
and
Magic Marpet

What is your favorite piece?

Have you ever tried any TB products and if so which ones?

I'd love to know your thoughts!

Livias Kitchen Millionaire Bites Review

Today I wanted to share these bites of deliciousness with you all.
If you haven't been reading my blog for long, you may not be aware I suffer from Gastroparesis and a severe milk allergy, meaning that I have to be really careful with what I eat.

Whether you suffer from any digestive problems, or you just want a natural tasty treat, these are most definitely for you.

Something I was addicted to as a child was Terry's Chocolate Orange. Since my diagnosis, I've not been able to go near one, so when I come across anything chocolate orange I am all over that show.

These millionaire shortbread come in 3 flavors; Salted Date Caramel (delicious), Almond and Raisin (I am yet to try but will get my hands on them soon!), and Chocolate Orange (Think thick jaffa cake centre on a delicious oaty base topped with creamy raw chocolate).

So what are they?
'LK’s Raw Millionaire Bites are a nutritional twist on the classic millionaire shortbread. A crumbly oat base covered with a gooey date caramel, topped with smooth, rich dark raw chocolate. They are gluten, dairy and refined sugar free, with no additives or preservatives and full of delicious flavour.'-

Have you tried Livias Millionaire Shortbread? Which flavor would you most love to try?

Come with me: Tanya Burr Chocolate Box Studio Event

Yesterday was one of the most exciting days of this year.
I got up bright and early and headed off to Knightsbridge to the Tanya Burr Chocolate Box Studio in Harvey Nichols.

Once there, we were led in groups up to the 5th floor, where we entered into the beautiful and christmassy world of Tanya Burr Cosmetics. The room was done out beautifully, think insta worthy wall displays, a huge Tanya Burr advent Calendar and a TB light-box to get pictures with.

Stands with beautifully produced product displays, showing off the Christmas and Selfie Story ranges lined the outside of the room, whilst make up artist stands stood in the center, where we had our very own TB make over.

I will do a separate review of my goodie bag products and a break down of the ranges, but I will just comment on the longevity of these products, which is incredible. I had my make up done at about 10 am and it lasted all day, whilst I strolled London got the train and did obligatory shopping. It also took me on a night out last night too, with just a powder touch up!
Tanya also had her very own Truffle stand, with a gorgeous array of chocolate delights!

I was super lucky to make a friend in Carmen, whilst at the event, who I had so much in common with. I love finding like minded people and we laughed the morning away, and even had a cheeky look around Harvey Nichols afterwards, before going for coffee (think pumpkin spice flat white in pret).

I'm definitely one of those people who gets excited at the small things and trying the new pumpkin spice flat white in Pret was one of them. I was so pumped to try it and although I'm not sure it competes with the pumpkin spice latte from starbs, it was lovely.

I hope you enjoy a few photos from the day! Pop back Tuesday for my goodie bag review and a break down of the new Tanya Burr range!

Happy Sunday Lovelies xx
